How can we expand our definition of literacy beyond the generic, “Reading and Writing”? What other skills do we need to target to help our complex learners become literate? What are the true goals of literacy? In this Lunch and Learn, we will discuss an expanded definition of literacy and review strategies to teach students how to engage with text, make meaning, and bridge new information to known information.
