SUMMARY:Discovery Museum Nature Play Festival
DESCRIPTION:Have fun\, explore\, and learn outdoors and inside at Discovery Museum’s free Nature Play Festival! Gather with our community and local businesses to offer immersive nature-based activities throughout our campus including Invasive Plant Papermaking\, Mud Kitchen\, Bug Hunts\, Log and Rock Flipping\, and so much more. \nExplore the inclusive\, accessible\, and giant Treehouse and Discovery Woods nature playscape\, and take a guided Nature Walk on the conservation land that abuts the campus. The fun will continue indoors with STEM-based galleries and hands-on activities. \nSensory accommodations will include a Take-a-Break tent\, an ASL interpreter onsite 11:30am to 3:00pm\, and ASL yoga in the early afternoon. As always\, there are noise-reducing headphones available to borrow in the lobby. \nThere will be food\, music\, and fun as we connect with nature and appreciate the wonderful planet we all call home.  Free admission for all.  Rain or shine.

DESCRIPTION:Boston Children’s Hospital’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program is offering TWO virtual summer college application workshops facilitated by Harvard University undergraduate student and BCH intern\, Carly Gelles. Carly has been involved with the DHH community for the past 6 years and is passionate about making the college application process clearer and less overwhelming. Her workshops will cover a variety of topics including: an overview of the college application process\, how to write powerful college essays\, how to showcase your extracurriculars while highlighting your unique voice and story\, and more! The workshops will take place on Wednesday\, July 16 from 7-8pm\, and on Monday\, August 4\, from 6-7pm. To register and receive the zoom attendance link\, please email DHHPOutreach@childrens.harvard.edu with your name and which session you would like to attend. Please be sure to include any additional questions you would like submitted to Carly in advance to be covered during the session. ASL interpretation will be provided.

DESCRIPTION:The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program at Boston Children’s Hospital invites families of DHH children ages 1-8 to join on Friday\, July 18th\, from 4-6pm at North Shore Children’s Museum in Peabody for a family outreach event! Come and enjoy the air-conditioned museum and meet up with other families of DHH kids. Dinner will be provided after 75 minutes of exploration and play. This indoor space does have a maximum capacity of 50 people\, so please make sure to RSVP for immediate family members only at your earliest convenience. Please email DHHPOutreach@children.harvard.edu and provide the number and ages of children attending and if there are any food allergies/dietary restrictions. ASL interpretation will be provided.
